Bringing Tradition Into Modern Homes

Bringing Tradition Into Modern Homes

Does traditional craftsmanship belong in a modern home? We believe the answer is yes.

Tradition isn't a time capsule. Sometimes we think of tradition as something that belongs to another generation—something kept safely in a cupboard or brought out only during special occasions. But traditions are meant to be lived. They evolve, travel and find their way into new homes and new stories.

Imagine a handcrafted piece sitting beside clean-lined furniture, against a neutral wall, on a contemporary shelf or next to a stack of modern design books. The traditional piece suddenly becomes part of something new. It hasn't lost its identity; it has simply found a place in today's life.

We love the contrast between old and new. A rich textile against a neutral sofa. A colourful handcrafted object in a minimalist room. Brass beside natural wood. Traditional patterns against contemporary architecture. These combinations can make a home feel personal rather than perfectly coordinated.

The best homes aren't necessarily the most expensive. They're the ones that tell us something about the people who live there. A favourite book, a family photograph, something collected during a journey or a handmade object that simply made someone smile can all become part of that story.

That's the idea behind Festive Trunk. We want to discover handcrafted pieces rooted in tradition and introduce them to homes that are modern, contemporary and personal.

Because we don't believe you have to choose between tradition and modernity. You can have both.
